Martha is a self-taught artist from a family of artists so it was in her blood to paint. Her favorite medium is watercolor, but she also works in acrylic, pastel, pencil, ink and oil. Her work ranges in size from 14 foot murals to delicate 4 x 8 inch watercolors. Her subjects are varied from the beautiful James River to character studies to spring flowers and old barns. For 20 years, Martha helped run The Heart of Virginia Fine Arts Show in Farmville, while also participating in outdoor shows all over the state from Colonial Beach to Waynesboro and Petersburg. Martha teaches watercolor classes locally while holding down a full time job as a Radiologic Technologist.
